Abstract


The control system of high-speech embroidery machine based on Linux is robust and intelligent. It can improve technique level of civil embroidery enterprises. At present, however, the issues on low-speed and low-additional value existed in most of civil embroidery enterprises which are only focus on development of low-end products instead of high performance products. By analyzing structures and functions of high-speed embroidery machines, a novel control system platform is proposed. The control system platform is helpful to improve products’level and promote its’competitive power in embroidery market.In this dissertation, the control system is composed of two processors which core processor is ARM chip, namely S3C2410A and co-processor is digital signal processing chip, namely TMS320F2808. Communication between two processors connects with SPI bus which is high speed and duplex.The main work and contributions of dissertation are summarized as follows:1. We designed the core control system module based on ARM920T which includes some functions modules: SDRAM, FLASH, E2PROM, USB, Ethernet communication, RS232, LCD, touch screen, and so on.2. The motion control system module is designed based on DSP which includes some hardware control modules such as taboret motor and principle axis motor.3. By virtual machine technique, Linux cross-compile environment in Windows system is established and device drivers are programmed in Linux system. The cross-compile environment, which is designed to provide effective compile and develop environment for every function module, can co-exist with CCS of DSP in Windows system.4. We learned to program using Qt / Embedded and Qtopia, and develop GUI using QT Designer which is visual interface development tool.
