Abstract


With the development of computer technology, image processing technology and maritime technology to produce the electronic chart system, describing the marine geographic information and navigational information in digital form. Because they image, intuitive, flexible, many advantages can not be compared with paper charts, caused by a technological revolution in the field of maritime areas and mapping. Countries in the world on the electronic chart and its application system attaches great importance to the development of a variety of electronic chart products, have made tremendous progress in terms of types, functions, and technical performance. Electronic chart database is the basis of the electronic chart application system, which determines the function and performance of electronic chart application system. With a large number of chart data is stored in the electronic chart database, only the establishment of efficient indexing mechanism in order to achieve the fast retrieval of the chart data. In this paper, the S-57 chart data in a standard format for the data source using Oracle 9i database management system, to create an electronic chart database, and by means of the R-tree spatial indexing techniques to achieve fast retrieval of electronic chart data. The first chapter introduces electronic chart technology development in the field of the status quo, as well as to establish the context of the electronic chart database. Proposed research content, research objectives, as well as the practical significance of the study. Chapter II is to establish the basis of the electronic chart database. Describes the electronic chart technology relevant international standards. In-depth study of the raster charts and vector chart data structure, select the data source for electronic chart database in line with the S-57 (V3.0) format vector electronic chart data. Theory of the electronic chart data focus on S-57 (V3.0) standard specifies data model and data structures. The third chapter of this paper a comparative study of data structures and algorithms through several commonly used spatial indexing techniques (such as a binary tree, B-tree, quad-tree, R tree), to determine the use of the R-tree indexing electronic chart database. Focus on the R-tree data structure, and find, delete, increase, separatism typical algorithm. Chapter IV of this paper is the core part of the full text. Comparative study of existing database management system, to determine the the application Oracle 9i database management system to build the electronic chart database, elaborated on the process of the establishment of the electronic chart database. First, in accordance with the requirements of the S-57 standard, the design of the database table name and attribute fields; then, according to the actual needs of sailing, set data restrictions; once again, the chart data to the database to import the actual establishment of the R-tree index, Create a system electronic chart database; Finally, the SQL statement to achieve management of electronic chart database. Conclusively Finally, in the concluding section discusses the content of the study of the subject, and proposed further visions and perspectives on the future research work.
