Abstract

In this paper, proragation properties of optical beams with some certaiu degrees ofnonlocality both in(1+2)dimension nonlinear nonlocal media and optical beams of opti-cal beams with an arbitrary degree of nonlocality in(1+1) dimension nonlinear nonlocalmedia are discussed, by numerical simulation, some sets of optical, beams parameters areobtained in some related conditions, the forming of solitons in different nonlinear non-local media are analyzed and the difference among them are described; some reportedevolution taws in the weakly nonlocal case are found to have some shortcoming and tobe corrected. The paper is organized as follows:Chapter 1, we present an overview of recent advances in the research of opticalbeam propagating in nonlocal nonlinear media.Chapter 2, using the numerical computing method, we placed an important empha-sis on analyzing optical beams evolution laws in both (1+1) dimension G aussian-shapedand exponential-decay real symmetry response functions. It shows that solitons can sur-vive in an arbitrary degree of nonlocality. Moreover, some parameters like power, phaseshift or profile between the two response functions above in the strongly nonlocal caseare varied, so some relevant physical explanations on the distinction between the twodifferent medium above are presented.Chapter 3, by numerical simulation, propagation properties of optical beams withsome certain degrees of nonlocality in (1+2) dimension nonlinear nonlocal media arediscussed, the numerical solutions on some sets of parameters are obtained, by analysisof the solutions achieved, soliton parameters such as critical power, phase shift andprofile in (1+2) dimension nonlinear nonlocal media are more different from those in(1+1) dimension identical cases to be found, it shows that whether solitons can survivemainly rests on the degrees of nonlocality. All that will be furnished with a broadervision in applying the bran-newly optical propagating properties in optical switch and all-optical information processing in the future.Chapter 4, In summary. The main achievement of the paper is that we discoved the basic condition to survivefor the solitons with some certain degrees of nonlocality in the (1+2) dimension Gaussian-shaped response media, analyzing some parameters of soliton propagation specifically;discussing the optical propagation properties with an arbitrary degree of nonlocalitybetween the two medium whose real symmetry response function is Gaussian-shapedor exponential-decay, presenting some relevant physical clarification on the differencebetween the two distinct medium above in the strongly nonlocal cases in detail, which willbe valuable for the future experiments to come true the degrees of nonlocality controlledin all-optical communications
