Artificial nanocrystals ( quantum dots ) due to its unique quantum effects , both theoretically and experimentally in recent years have become a hot research topic , and in medicine, photonics , biotechnology and many other fields have been widely applied . The main subject of study quantum dots (QDs) as well as the optical properties of QDs in optoelectronic applications in the field of early exploration, the quantum dot -doped silica fiber into the hollow fiber prepared quantum dots and further prepared quantum dots fiber amplifier, optical communication on the promotion of development of the field has a very big significance. This paper made ??a preliminary study of the subject . The first chapter reviews the development of optical communications and recommend dosage quantum dots fiber amplifier (QDFA) the need to study and describes QDFA the basic working principle and the latest research progress . First, from the second chapter defines the quantum mechanical point of QDs, and then a brief introduction of the QDs development history , structure, and fluorescence optical properties , method of preparation and its applications in optoelectronic devices status . The first chapter of the first absorption peak measured in visible light, ultraviolet and near-infrared bands CdSe, CdSe / ZnS, PbSe three kinds of QDs absorption spectrum and emission spectrum , and to study their stability in different solvents and dispersion. Secondly , on the basis of the concentration on the basis of the QDs , QDs and the diameter of the Beer-Lambert Law , the three QDs were identified peak absorption cross-section and of three kinds of different solvents QDs ( the bottom ) of the refractive index . Chapter IV describes the QDs doped during the preparation of the background of QDs doped into the fiber gives three specific experimental protocols and laboratory procedures and fiber preparation QDs key technology . Chapter briefly describes QDFA applications discussed QDFA application several issues that may arise , including QDFA dispersion problems , reliability problems. Finally, this paper summarizes the work done .
