Abstract


With the development of Internet Technology, there have been more and more all kinds of network application service. The application of Bulletin Boards System (BBS) has provided a freely communicational space for network users, but some unhealthy and reactive words have a bad effect on our country and society. Especially in university BBS forum, it is very significant to build harmony society and university that we can get accurately and quickly the hot topics from the mass data in campus BBS forum. Recognizing and monitoring hot topics can help managers to beaware of the focus of the community in the period and discover students’opinions in time. Once they face to some unexpected situations, they can take effective measures.Internet and its not easy supervision, how to detect hot topics from numerous network information sources is becoming more and more important. This paper focuses on how to detect hot topics automatically from BBS in campus in time. The prime work of this paper included the following aspects:(1) I have studied the history、development、contents and related techniques of Topic Detection and Tracking field. Also, I have discussed the Bulletin Board System’s history and its contribution to the managing work of the students in university.(2) Analyse the related algorithm of discovering hot topics and recognition technology. During discovering hot topics, the incremental multistage clustering algorithm are adopted, the techniques of marked invalid messages、sorting hot topics and merging bigger topics after clusting.(3) designs a system which can discover the hot topics from campus BBS forum on the Internet.
