Abstract


Polylactic acid (PLA) fiber is a new eco-fiber which not only owns the basiccharacteristics of synthetic fibers, but also has a biocompatiblity and biodegradablity of naturefiber. Because of very good degradation property, when PLA fiber was buried in the ground,and it would quickly be turned into carbon dioxide and water. In terms of costs and goodphysical and chemical properties, Polylactic acid fiber is more competitive than other textileproducts which using oil as raw material. What’s more, It is a so clean product that has trulylow-cost, low energy consumption and not pollute the environment. Tension in the currentenergy situation, vigorously develop polylactic acid fiber is a sustainable development option.For polylactic acid fiber and polyester fiber, there are many similarities in dyeing. Because of theunique structural characteristics of polylactic acid fiber, it also has own distinctive characteristics. Lackof fully understanding dyeing characteristics of this new type of PLA fiber, so it is necessary tofurther research in many areas.To have a preliminary evaluation ofpolylacfic acid(PLA) fiber in dyeing, so the dyeing propertiesof polylactic acid fiber were studied. On the basis of the optimization dyeing process of PLA fiber, therelations of dyeing uptake and the sizes of disperse dyes, auxiliary agents were discussed, and the fourcolor color fastness and formaldehyde content of dyeing polylactic acid fiber were determined. Theexperimental results showed that dyeing process of polylactic acid fiber: dyeing temperature is 110℃,time 30s, ratio 1:30, PH=4-5, dispersant JS-N 1.0g, leveler0.5g. Fastness can basically meet thedemands of the market, formaldehyde content to meet environmental standards.It’s dyeingadsorption mechanism of polylacfic acid fiber belonged to Nemst distribution type, which fit Hillformula to resolve its diffusion coefficient. Linear symmetrical structure of disperse Red 74 was chosento research dyeing thermodynamic and ldnetic of PLA fiber. By measuring effective absorption volumeV、thermodynamic parameters (affinity-△μ0, dyeing enthalpy△H0、dyeing entropy△S0) and thekinetics parameters (diffusion coefficient D, half-dyeing time t1/2, dyeing rate constant K’), dyeingproperties of polylactic acid fiber was analysised and discussed, which helps to further developpolylactic acid fiber and it’s mixed textiles.
