Abstract

Because of high antibullet performance, light weight and low cost, theceramic composite armor is widely applied in the bodywork and casematestructures of tanks and armored vehicles. Usually, according to the assemblyrequirements in the working place, the ceramic composite armor demandssecondary machining, such as drilling, shaving, cutting, slotting, especiallyplenty of hole drilling. The engineering ceramics in the paper is the corematerial of maximum hardness, the most difficult machining and Playing animportant role in ceramic composite armor. The main contents in this thesis are made up of four portions. First, machining mechanism of engineering Ceramics by diamond Drill sets isanalyzed. Second, the impact of diamond tool of the main parameters to itsperformance, especially to the wear resistance of tool, is analyzed; theparameters of the preferred scope, choice principles and the matrix componentsof tool is determined, to provide a theoretical basis for the development anddesign of diamond tool sintered by hot pressing. Third, looking wear of hotpressing Diamond tool as the main indicator, and using single factor testmethod, we have inspected orderliness of performance parameters and structuralparameters of the diamond tool and the constant pressure, drilling speed andother processing parameters to have an effect on the wear of tool, which includethe relation of hot-pressing and tool wear, the relation of Cumulative footageand the wear rate of tool, relation of the wear rate and the penetration rate.Fourth, the phenomena that tool stalk is twisted off and tool is skidding inthe test often happen, which are analyzed to provide for a theoretical basisof choosing machining parameters.
