In back-3G age, the competition among the operating systems has turned around the competition among the embedded browsers, and the phone browser has been called "final 1cm". So far, there are two phone browser types:phone wap and web browsers. The phone web browser supports "search quickly and read conveniently" (they are the key to design the phone browser), and it’s the mainstream application in the future.Firstly, the thesis analyzes the actuality about the phone web browsers, by the ways which are investigating online and using the phone browsers’ simulators, and then summarizes their characters and important contents (including the navigation ways and the zoom ways) on the several present prevailed phone web browsers. Then, the thesis points out the reasons of developing the phone web browser—Sodragon based on S60. After that, the thesis studys and analyzes the S60 architecture and modules, and makes the Sodragon’s designing targets. Following that, the thesis analyzes the platform Masp and designs the Sodragon’s architecture and main modules. Then, it analyzes and designs the several key technologies to the phone web browsers:improve on the designment of the S60 navigation algorithms, design the relayout algorithms, design the HTTP partly and port it to the Masp, design the SSL and the Cookie partly.Therefore, the thesis mainly points out and solves these problems:how to support to access the web 2.0 sites, how to make the phone web browser targets, how to make the Sodragon’s architecture and modules, how to redesign the S60’s navigation and relayout algorithms, how to design the HTTP and port it to Masp, how to design the SSL and the Cookie.
