Abstract


ObjectiveTo investigate the levels of pregnancy-associate plasma proteinA (PAPP-A) in ectopic pregnancy.MethodsThe serum levels of PAPP-A in 90 cases of normal pregnancywomen and 100 cases of ectopic pregnancy women were measuredby double antibody sandwich ELISA.Results1. PAPP-A levels were significant difference at different pregnancyweeks in normal pregnancy, which were higher at longerpregnancy weeks.2. PAPP-A levels were not obviously difference at differentpregnancy weeks in ectopic pregnancy.3. PAPP-A levels were obviously lower in ectopic pregnancy thanin normal pregnancy.4. The normal reference range was 199.20-369.30mIU/L, whichwas established from 45 normal pregnant women during 7-10gestational weeks. PAPP-A level of ectopic pregnancy womenwas lower than 199.20 mIU/L. Conclusion1. PAPP-A levels are higher at longer pregnancy weeks than shorterpregnancy weeks in normal pregnancy, but they are notobviously difference at different pregnancy weeks in ectopicpregnancy2. PAPP-A levels are obviously lower in ectopic pregnancy than innormal pregnancy.3. PAPP-A levels detection may be used as prenatal diagnosismethod of ectopic pregnancy.
