Abstract


Objective: To study the function of IL-2 and RANTES in the local immunity of murine WC.Method: seventy-nine female Kunming mice were divided into four groups. The first group was infected by Candida albicans only once （A group） , the second was infected two times（B group） and the third group, murine are treated with IL-2 by subcutaneously injection, which are repeated in the following 2 days, and detect the variation content of RANTES and IL-2 in blood at days 2 and 7（C group）.The fourth was the control group（D group）, IL-2 and RANTES in blood and vaginal fluids were detected and CFU of vaginal fluids was performed after infection of 2, 7, and 14 days. The results are processed by SPSS 13.0 statistical software.Results: The content variation of IL-2、RANTES and CFU in vaginal fluids is highest at the 7th day in both the A and the B groups, as well as in the blood; there are not notable changes at 2nd day and 14th day. The content of IL-2 and RANTES in A and B group all to exceed C group. According to the same days postinfection, IL-2 and RANTES of the B group was higher than that of the A group in both in vaginal fluids and in blood, and the IL-2 and RANTES in vaginal fluids is higer in blood ,the CFU of B group is higer than A group.Conclusion: Cell-mediated immunity（CMI）, as a host defense mechanism, plays an important role in protecting against Candida Albicans, especially in secondary infection. Local innate immunity is more important than systemic innate immunity in vulvovaginal candidiasis. IL-2 and RANTES has protective effection in WC bypromoting local innate immunity level in the murine infection of WC.
