Abstract


To clarify the pharmacognosy characteristics of Paris in Heilongjiang province, establish an overall, effective system of qualify assessment, and provide the scientific basis for exploiting them effectively. Paris verticillata and P. quadrifolia in Heilongjiang was studied systematically in pharmacognosy. From the study on morphological and histological, we find the identifying characteristics on plant morphology, material character and micro-character of Paris verticillata and P. quadrifolia. We photograph the detailed transverse structure and described powder micrograph and the brief transverse structure. Adopting physical and chemical identification proved that all contained steroidal spaonin; diosgenin was proved to be contained in Paris verticillata and P. quadrifolia by TLC. The active content, diosgenin was compared by HPLC. The results indicated that the content was different in rhizome, stem, leaf, and flower, and the content was highest in Yi Chun about three different areas in above part of Paris verticillata.
