Abstract


To find out the application of Virtual Reality Technology on Landscaping Planning and Garden Design——a new computer technology,followed the use of softeware——CAD、Photoshop and 3DS Max and the use of 3S(RS、GIS and GPS) technology.First of all, summarize the current status of virtual reality technology both in the China and other countries. Secondly,based on the characters of virtual reailty technology,the effects of landscaping planning and garden design field are predicted.Thirdly,we find the best way of virtual reality technology by using AHP.Fouthly,the VR technology is used in the creative stage and representation stage of landscape architecture planning and garden design and effective methods are summarized and realize public’s participation of landscaping planning and garden design on line,in these,the focus on micro landscape planning and garden design,and get experiences as follows:Firstly, the VRML method is the best way used in Landscaping Planning and Garden Design in the seven largest methods of research and application: Multigen Vega、VRML、Virtools、Cult3D、Viewpoint、Java3D and QTVR with the application of AHP;Secondly,Forestry Pro is the best plant-making method in the virtual reality environment, Onyx Tree and Anima Tek are better, Plane Map method and Xfrog can make selective application according needs in the nine largest methods: Plane Map method、Forestry Pro、Onyx Tree Professional、AnimaTek World Builder、Vue d’Sprit Pro、Tree storm、Digimation SpeedTree、Xforg and 12 species of plants of 3D VIZ. Thirdly, according to the information of anthropometry,we can make the virtual humans using virtual reality technology,and make a "’ture man’’s roaming". With the treatment of fog、light and sound,we can create virtual landscape architect with more ideal state; Forthly, The Web VRGIS based on VRML can be used in every stages and its remarkable meanings are presented: It include the planning and design ways of GIS;It support the real-time adjustion、real-time comparation and real-time requestion of information of planning and design; Fifthly, with the "’ture man’’s roaming",based on the elements of borrowing scencery、dynamic properties of human being of different kinds of roads,we can choose the best road using virtual reality technology to aid design; Sixthly, using "’ture man’’s roaming"with theme,we can optimize the planning or design.After the test of the examples of roaming of Hunan Vocational Institute of Technology’s green space planning’s virtual reality environment,we can find the ideas such as something about human’s attention、vision、contents including scale of human being and scene、abstract natural elements、the contents which human being’s psychology can be easily embodied、human being of different states、something about aesthetic features、the situationg about space、the contents which can be used with the Kinetics test;Seventhly, public’s participation on line of landscaping planning and garden design can be carried out with a example as certification.
