Abstract


Higher vocational education is an important part of higher education .The development of higher vocational education is the need of the development of economy and society,and the need of diversification of educational structure. Hunan higher vocational education has gained a rapid development with the massfication program of higher education in our province. There are 60 higher vocational colleges established independently in Hunan province during 2006.At the same time,these colleges face the problems of student source in various degrees in their student enrollment,such as insufficient members, low quality etc,which is the starting point of virtuous circulation of the whole higher vocational education. It can be said that the higher vocational education would become water without a source or a tree without roots without steady high quality student resource.As a result, It’s essential to clearly analyze and comb how to solve the student resource problems from the theory and practice level. it’s also necessary to investigate and analyze the influence factors of student resource of Hunan higher vocational colleges in depth.Based on the survey of Hunan Vocational College Students’ status, the relevant factors of the impact of its students are analysed: school-age population status; Enrollment and funding policies; Traditional culture; College itself. At the same time, study and model the successful experiences of developed countries. the Vocational College Students recommendations and countermeasures are proposed : changing social attitudes by extensive publicity of higher vocational education talents, and values; improving relevant laws, reforming the entrance system, increasing the input of funds, deepening reform of the labor and personnel system, creating a favorable policy environment; Vocational colleges must be orientated clearly, optimize specialities’ structure, strengthen the construction of curricula , take the advanced training model, enhance the sense of competition, highlight the characteristics of higher vocational education.
