Abstract


John Hopkins University and the United States marked the beginning of the modern university as the first American research university to create a new era in American higher education. Gilman at the University implemented a series of measures to establish research universities, such as advocating the principle of academic freedom, the introduction of university science, graduate education in the universities. Johns Hopkins University Gilman’s leadership, a profound impact on the American academic development. This paper focuses on the implementation of Gilman at Johns Hopkins University, a series of measures, of Johns Hopkins University Gilman led the development of China University of China.
