Abstract


The teaching of ancient poetry has been a difficult issue in high school Chinese teaching. At the same time, it is also a controversial issue. There are various opinions about it. The author thinks that a thorough discussion of this issue is of great significance to Chinese teaching in senior high school.The New Curriculum for Chinese stresses that in the process of Chinese teaching, students should be enabled to“realize the richness and greatness of Chinese culture and absorb the wisdom of national culture”.Chinese, as a carrier of culture, is very distinctive from other material instruments. Today’s Chinese teachers should take on the historic responsibility: make full use of the special function of Chinese to carry out humanistic and quality-oriented education; enable students to learn and grow in our rich and great national culture and promote Chinese cultural traditions. Ancient poetry is the finest national literary genre, which integrates saturated emotions, extraordinary techniques, rich imagination and elaborate language. It is a most important part in Chinese teaching. Therefore, in the context of the New Curriculum, poetry should get its due attention. Meanwhile, the ideas“cultivating students’attainment of Chinese”,“conversion of teachers’role”“promoting students’balanced and individualistic development”and“autonomous, cooperative and inquiring style of study”, etc. are a enlightening and pushing force for the teaching of ancient poetry. This thesis focuses on the three tasks in poetry teaching in the context of the New Curriculum, analyzes the characteristics and problems of current teaching of ancient poetry in senior high school, and emphasizes three methods of improving the teaching of ancient poetry.This thesis is based up the New Curriculum. From the angle of a researcher and operator, the author mainly focuses on the theoretical basis of ancient poetry teaching and the specific procedures of the teaching and offers some teaching experience and teaching conception to teachers, which is of rather strong authenticity and practicality.
