Abstract


Embedded system is one of the hottest concepts in wireless network technique field.The transplanting、analysis、improvement and implementation of communication network protocol based embedded system has aroused extensive interests.According to the new developing direction of embedded system and wireless network, this paper designs a WLAN terminal platform adapt to high/middle applications, which can also support communication terminal equipments such as Ethernet,RS232,USB,and so on. This paper has designed hardware system and software developing environment based this platform.The processer adopted by our hardware system is S3C2440A which comes from SAMSUNG company. With the features of small size, low power consumption, low cose, high performance, processor based on ARM(Advanced RISC Machines) architecture has been more and more considered as the fist choice of building an embedded system. This paper mainly describes the method of hardware design based on the ARM processor S3C2440A,including the architecture of S3C2440A and design of handware circuit modules.The contribution of the paper’software part includes running linux OS on board,and making PCMCIA interface and 802.11b wireless netcard based PCMCIA work successfully through transplant and cross-compile.Furthermore,we can establish embedded wireless communication network for our further research through the wireless link between embedded boards.
