Abstract


Based on reading-culture theory, the paper made research on reading situation in university and functions of university library, relating with current situation of campus culture and working of university library. It analyzed the advantages and roles of campus reading-culture in universities and discussed its strategies from the views, such as materials environment, behavior models, organizational mechanism and psychologistics. In order to create campus reading culture, we should strengthen the work of building university libraries.The paper studied deeply theories of campus reading culture and methods of building university library with literature-study method, multi-principle contrastive analysis method and research method. It compared the basic theories of reading culture, campus culture and library building, in order to find the suitable methods from various points to create the campus reading culture.The paper combined thoughts and theories of campus culture with reading culture, which gave the energy to university library work. This was good for promoting its work and recreating function of creating culture. It would attract more students involving reading and help them getting the correct reading idea, training the good reading habit, gasping effective reading method and improving individual quality, as to enhancing whole society quality through whole-people reading. Campus reading culture will play roles relying on university libraries. The study of campus reading culture should begin with library constructing. University libraries should give full play to readers advantages, resources advantages, major advantages and environment advantages and play roles in creating campus reading culture, such as cognitive, educational and emotional roles. Campus reading culture is the collection of readers’cognition. Based on meeting the need of mainstream society culture, university libraries should design and build good infrastructure, enrich library resource, establish full organizational mechanism, organize favorable reading activities and deal with the reading habit change and challenge caused by multi-media. We should build environment culture for reading development and inherit, get university library service idea of reading-culture orient and found working mechanism and service system for culture developing and knowledge regeneration.
