Abstract

Subdivision technology is a hot research direction of computer graphics , the results of their research to be applied in a number of areas . The body is broken down as a branch of the subdivision technology , mainly used in free-form deformation . Deformation of the free , if the control grid ( volume mesh ) is too sparse the deformation model discontinuity between the control mesh body . If the control grid is broken down after the deformation can be reduced to this discontinuity , but it is very time-consuming . Therefore , this paper presents the GPU volume mesh subdivision . In recent years, with the development of GPU technology , the GPU 's floating point performance greatly improved , even more than the contemporary mainstream CPU . Many important algorithms have been improved in order to achieve the purpose of the workload balance between CPU and GPU . This paper introduces an existing tetrahedral mesh subdivision algorithm . Although this algorithm can eliminate the discontinuity appearing in the deformation , but the complexity of its running time is quite high . Subsequently, analyze and improve the subdivision algorithm change the algorithm framework for precomputed CPU and GPU within the real-time calculation of two parts . This segmentation method introduced to speed up the speed of the body segments , in order to achieve the purpose of real-time segmentation . Finally, this sub- framework used in free-form deformation technique . The free-form deformation algorithm with slight modifications , the and coordinate interpolation part of the last center of gravity for the GPU , so as to form a complete real - time deformation framework .
