Abstract

WiMAX standard developed by the IEEE 802 Working Group , the goal is to achieve a global standard for broadband wireless access in the fixed and mobile environment . System coverage of up to 50 km , 70MB / s data transfer rate, and to support the mobile station speed mobile technology advantage decided WiMAX technology will have broad application range and good market prospects . IEEE802.16e standard only defines the physical layer and MAC specification defines the MAC layer switch switch issue only how to combine the agreements upper switch , in order to support the WiMAX full mobility , whether related to the WiMAX network successful commercial deployment of major issues . So, in-depth study of the WiMAX network end-to-end switching with high theoretical significance and practical value . 3GPP first proposed the IP Multimedia Subsystem uses SIP protocol for session control , mobility support , you can easily achieve the creation of an end - to - end session , modify , and solve the end-to-end network switching , SIP has a natural technological advantages and broad market prospects . On the basis of the study the IEEE802.16e protocol and SIP protocol , a new scheme to solve the the IEEE802.16 access network end-to-end switching with SIP . The program uses a cross-layer switch design ideas , joint MAC layer and application layer SIP protocol , while the underlying link switching to complete the modification of the application layer session to speed up the handover process , reduce the handoff delay and improve the success rate of switching . Based on NS2 simulation platform to complete the simulation platform build process , to achieve the integration of the SIP protocol modules and WiMAX protocol module , expanded part of the message of the SIP protocol module , and ultimately , in a unified the NS2 platform for on SIP-based modules and WiMAX agreement WiMAX-based access , support SIP extensions SIP session establishment and modification process .
