The H.264 standard is the latest , highest compression efficiency image coding standard international video storage , wireless communications and other fields have a wide range of applications . Shot boundary detection is an important technology in many video applications , domestic and foreign scholars in recent years , is this a lot of research and made ??a lot of achievements , but in the recall , precision and speed is always less than ideal . In order to improve the shortcomings of the conventional method , the full use of the H.264 coding method , and characteristics of an H.264 video stream quickly cut detection algorithms . The algorithm use of B / P frames , the relevant information of the reference frame and the macroblock type information , when necessary, to extract the I-frame DC histogram , the present algorithm is divided into two modules : a module B and P module . B module detects mainly containing the B-frames of the video , the P module containing P and I frames only video detection . The paper also proposed a lens gradient detection method , using mainly two characteristics of the the brightness variance occurs gradient map : First , within the same lens , the brightness variance of each frame is not very different , When the the lens occurred gradient , the brightness variance is continuous , the same changes occurred ; an extended period of very smooth variance curve in the area of the left or right side of the gradient . The experiments show that the method is simple and effective, a higher accuracy rate .
