Abstract

Wireless mobile communication engineering , channel estimation is one of the most critical and most complex problems in the receiver design , this paper is to explore a new generation of wireless mobile communication system channel estimation techniques . Wireless mobile communications since its birth , its development speed is amazing . Experienced the rapid development of second-generation and third -generation mobile communication , the next generation that after three generations (Beyond 3G) or fourth - generation mobile communication system (4G) research work has already started . The main feature of the 4G communication system is that it can provide a high data rate, a wireless communication service of the system capacity . However, the various physical characteristics of the mobile channel , such as bandwidth limitations , propagation loss , time-varying characteristics , noise interference multipath fading , etc. , all affect the reliability of the high-speed wireless mobile communications in order to obtain a higher data rate and a more reliable communication performance, a new generation of wireless mobile communication systems must be used to improve the spectral efficiency of the new technology . MIMO-OFDM technology will OFDM and space-time coding technology organic combination , can significantly improve the channel capacity and transfer rate of the wireless communication system , and can effectively resist multipath fading , interference suppression and noise . In this paper, on the basis of analysis of the mobile radio channel fading characteristics , expounded the basic principle of MIMO-OFDM system , multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems of several common channel estimation method described , the main focused on training sequence based channel estimation minimum mean square (LS) criterion . First introduced the LS time domain channel estimation basic algorithm , and then proposed a simplified and improved algorithm based on the analysis of the effectiveness and feasibility of these algorithms , and combine MATLAB simulation . The last LS frequency domain channel estimation based on a new improved algorithm : the packet the LS frequency domain channel estimation algorithm, and combined with the MATLAB Simulation its principle, performance and practicality detailed analysis .
