Abstract

Currently, phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) continue to attract more and more intense interest, because they can approach a 100% internal quantum efficiency theoretically ,due to the best use of both singlet and triplet excitons. Of the various kinds of phosphorescent materials available, cyclometalated iridium(III) complexes exhibiting relatively high phosphorescent efficiencies along with easily modified to tune the emission color are certainly the most utilized phosphorescent emitter. Although many efforts have been carried out to produce electroluminescent (EL) materials and devices, high efficiency and long lifetime are still crucial factors for the application of EL materials. Among the challenges to achieve high-efficiency light are the optimum choice of emitter materials, tuning of charge carrier balance, adjusting the recombination zone, and mutual energy transfer. To tune the emission color over the entire visible range, the methodology of control in substituents of ligands were adopted, which adding diffculties of the molecular design and synthesis of difficulties.By changing different heteroatom substitution in the aromatic ring, can not only realize emitting light colors adjustable, and synthesis is relatively easy. In addition, more luminous nuclear can effectively impove the material luminous property.Organic quantum well structures are acknowledged to be helpful in enhancing the performance of OLEDs in the aspects of narrower spectral emission, higher emission efficiency, and tunable emission spectrum. Organic multiple-quantum-well (MQW) structures can effectively improve the luminous efficiency, which is more and more applied in the production of the device.Schiff base complexes have special R-C=N- groups, resulting in a widly use of application in luminescence. Salicylaldehyde schiff base complexes is one of the important category, which can form new complexes molecular structure with well luminous property. In addition, because of the simple synthesis and good luminous performance, Zinc complexes are also gotten more and more concern. In this investigation, we designed and synthesized Iridium complexes and Zinc complexes with oxazoline and thiazoline ligands respectively. Salicylaldehyde schiff base Iridium complexes with double luminous nuclear were also synthesized. Nondoped phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices (NPOLEDs) with multiple quantum well (MQW) structure was employed to study the properties of the Iridium complexes. The main content of this dissertation as follows: 1. Two Zinc complexes with oxazoline and thiazoline ring were synthesized. Blue OLED devices with Zinc complexes as emitting layer had good CIE.2. Two new iridium complexes with oxazoline and thiazoline ligands were synthesized. Using the two materials as the emitting layer of the nondoped phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices with multiple quantum well structure, we got green and white emission of the NPOLEDs with good performance.3. New salicylaldehyde schiff base iridium complexes with single and double luminous nuclear were synthesized. A white emission of the device based on the iridium complexes with single luminous nuclear was obtained, correspondly, we fabricated yellow-red device with methodology of spin coating organic doped layer, which using double luminous nuclear shiff base complex as dopant.
