Abstract


The development and prosperity of teaching Chinese as a second language, it can be said a process of the exploring and researching by educators. The textbook is an important role in building and spreading the cause of teaching Chinese as a second language. It is the basis of teaching and learning for teachers and students. Over the years it is always the focus of the studies by many experts and scholars.The textbooks of teaching Chinese as a second language has developed over 50 years from the first textbook—"Chines Textbook" published. With the number of people learning Chinese increasing, the demand for textbooks of teaching Chinese as a second language is also increasing."Boya Chinese" as a kind of long-term study text book of teaching Chinese as a second language was put out in Feb. 2005 by Peking University Press. Its content is very systematic and normal. So it was approved by users."The New Practical Chinese Textbook" was put out by Beijing Language and Culture University Press. It faces to the foreign users who use English as their mother tongue or media language. It used in many foreign universities.The paper mainly discuss the concept of writing of book, vocabulary, grammar, texts, exercises between "Boya Chinese (elementary I, II)" and "The New Practical Chinese Textbook (1, 2)". And put forward ideas about writing more practical, more interesting textbooks of teaching Chinese as a second language.
