Multiple quality characteristics in product / process design optimization method research is a hot research problem for Design for Six Sigma quality engineering today. For ordinary designers, easy-to promote the use of the angle of view, and in-depth study of multivariate quality characteristics of the product / process design optimization method based on the traditional TOPSIS method, which specifically includes the following aspects: First, the product / multivariate quality characteristics in the process design to optimize the characteristics of the problem difficult to conduct in-depth analysis, pointed out the drawbacks of traditional design patterns, emphasized the parallel quality engineering, Design for Six Sigma important role to improve the quality of the product / process. Secondly, for the purposed type multivariate quality characteristics optimization problem to conduct an in-depth study, pointed out the shortcomings of the traditional TOPSIS method. Improved TOPSIS method given positive ideal solution suitable the purposed quality characteristics, reasonable and determined according to the actual needs of the tolerance limit negative ideal solution, and then gives the steps of optimization, building evaluation index. The improved method can not only sort options, you can also determine the best combination of factor levels. Again, consider the optimization of the robustness of demand. Traditional TOPSIS method does not take into account the actual production requirements, improved robustness of the method were constructed based on the mean and standard deviation of the decision matrix, consider the needs of the decision makers' preferences and the actual situation. In addition, the relative closeness of the improved method so decision-makers can be a trade-off between the mean and standard deviation of the quality characteristics, enhances the robustness of the optimization. Finally, taking into account the deviation of the robustness of demand for in-depth study. Built for the shortcomings of the traditional TOPSIS method based on improved method of decision-makers, increase the flexibility of the decision-making process can be measured close to the target value and reduce the variance between the square root of the mean square error decision matrix. This paper presents several methods for improving the statistical and mathematical knowledge of operating personnel requirements are not very high, to complete the model solution process by conventional software such as Minitab or Excel, the improved method is easy to get a promotion and application in practice. In addition, the improved method takes into account the requirements of the preferences of the decision makers and the actual situation on the robustness of the deviation, the optimization results more in line with the actual situation, so that the decision-makers to be more satisfied with optimization.
