Abstract


Purpose:To systematically review the existing clinical evidence of tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis and to provide the best available evidence for clinical decision—making and for prioritizing further research areas on the therapy with tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis.Method:Use the method of evidence-based medicine to fully search literatures of tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis. All the research literature of tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), half RCTs or called RCTs are included. The qualities of included studies such as randomization, blinding, allocation conceal and loss of follow up are evaluated. Use RevMan 4.2 software to performe statistical analysis or descriptive analysis.Result:Eighteen RCTs involving 1493 patients are included. Because of different therapies in the control groups, after heterogenicity analysis, the results are described. Most of included studies suggested that tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis is more effective than Western medicine on general effect, pregnancy rate improvement, menstrual disorder treatment, lumbosacral pain remission rate and loss of libido treatment.There are significances in statistics(P<0.05). Although statistics show there are no statistical significances(P>0.05) between treatment groups and control groups on remission rate of dysmenorrhea, recurrence rate, treatment of pelvic mass nodule, remission rate of intercourse pain, the tendency is obviously toward the treatment groups. The negative conversion rate of EmAb is similar (P>0.05) between treatment and control groups yet the tendency is toward western medicine. Statistics show that treatment with tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation is more effective than guizhifuling capsule on general effect, pregnancy rate improvement and basic body temperature improvement.8 researches reported side effects and showed there are fewer side effects of treatment with tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation than western medicine.Conclusion:The treatment with tonifying kidney and promoting blood circulation for endometriosis is more effective and has fewer side effects than western medicine. However, because of inadequate in number of researches, low quality, this research has its deficiency. I expect there will be much more RCTs with high quality to confirm the conclusion of this research.
