Abstract


As per today’s economic globalization, companies are competing in all areas related. The competition in supply chain area is the one of the most key ones in 21st century. Concept of supply chain has been developed long time ago, and transferred into China in 80s, while it is not well developed in China. High supply chain cost and inefficient logistics flow have been effecting Chinese companies’competition and long term development ability.Starting from the analysis of supply chain logistics development process and current situation, the paper introduces the concepts of logistics, value stream mapping and logistics consolidation, as well as the theory and practical consequence of supply chain logistics consolidation, while concentrate on bottleneck of supply chain logistics consolidation. Based on this, the paper clarifies the technical feasibility of supply chain logistics consolidation, further more clarifies the consolidation models, as well as reveals the theory of supply chain logistics consolidation performance assessments, and elements of selection the above mentioned models. Then come to the point, it is the trend of supply chain development that the supply chain logistics consolidation based on value stream mapping optimization.Take the practice of IDEX as case study, the paper analyzes the current situation of supply chain logistics and the supply chain logistics consolidation models through value stream mapping. Introduces the entire process of cost analysis, process set up, performance evaluation and implementation with real data analysis and diagram.Supply chain logistics performane optimization is a dynamic process that companies efficiently and effectively control, evaluate and continuesly improve their logistics system. Value stream mapping is an efficient tool for processes improvements. It is worth to be spreaded as value stream mapping is real beneficial for logistics optimization and enhance companies’operations performance of their logistics system and international competition ability.
