Abstract

Followed Dixit Stiglitz (1977) monopolistic competition general equilibrium framework, Krugman (1991a) illustrates the effect of economies of scale and transportation costs, the spatial concentration of the manufacturing process. This paper is to explain the problem, why different manufacturing industry agglomeration, the formation of specialized industrial zones of regional specialization in different areas. We need to be answered in Krugman (1980); R. Krugman Venables, (1995) and Venables (1996) model the introduction of a new factor. First, this paper explores the historical origins of the industrial area of ??specialization. Space is not a homogeneous plane, and historical factors are often important reasons of space uneven quality. Historical tradition of industrial development often brings industry-specific elements of the space to the uneven distribution of low flow characteristics of these elements to further strengthen the spatial concentration of the elements of the state. Spatial agglomeration of industry-specific factors lead to different industry competitiveness in the survival of a particular space, which lead to specialized industrial agglomeration area of ??similar products production enterprise space. Secondly, from the division of labor and trade perspective explores the formation mechanism of the industrial area of ??specialization. Along Krugman (1980); R. Krugman, Venables (1995) and Venables (1996) analytical framework, this paper presents a theoretical model of the formation of specialized industrial zone. The basic idea is that the formation of specialized industrial district specialization between enterprises deepen bring increasing returns driven, low human capital conversion costs and higher market transaction costs to promote the formation and development of specialized industrial zones. Again, the theoretical analysis of the context of the \The release of the western agricultural surplus labor to provide for the development and growth of the eastern Specialized Industrial Districts with a large number of potential industrial labor force. Specialized Industrial Districts and the eastern part of the technical differences between the emerging industries of the west to eastern entice potential western industrial labor. When the technical advantages of the eastern Specialized Industrial Districts accumulation the adequate compensation western agriculture surplus labor migration cost, the the western surplus labor promote the large-scale influx of eastern expansion of the eastern part of Specialized Industrial Districts. Finally, to Yongkang Hardware Machinery specialized industrial zone Case study based test This paper draws a number of theoretical perspectives and make relevant theoretical and policy implications.
