Abstract


Wide Area Measurement System(WAMS) has shown its advantage and promising prospects in power system application.Meanwhile,there are still some shortcomings in the theory and application. For these reasons, approaches to improve the application of WAMS in the monitoring and analysis of power system is studied in the dissertation.The main contents and contribution are as follows:1. A systematic research for the measurement technology of WAMS.Based on the study and summerization of timing system, synchrophasor algorithm,signal measurement,system infrastructure,data processing,interconnection of different master stations,etc. novel concepts and methods are put forward as below:(l)The configuration of backup timing system for WAMS,which can enhance the reliability of synchrophasor measurement.(2)The layer and zoning structure of information exchanging for the interconnection of WAMS with other system.(3)The method of data processing,error analysis and correcting,as well as the analysis of accuracy and transmission delay of WAMS data is given.(4)The concept of dynamic observation, static observation and transient observation is defined, which illustrates the usage of WAMS in power system monitoring.2.The research of dynamic observation of power system based on WAMSThe essention and goal of dynamic monitoring of WAMS is studied,the principle to configure PMU in power system is described, and the algorithm to configure PMU in power systems are put forwards:
