Abstract

Along with the development of industry technology, the use of noble metals isincreasing widely, also the source of second resources meterials. Then, the number ofnoble metals that refines from the mineral resources is less than that recycles from thesecond resources materials. So importance of recycling the second resources materialsis growing and revealing. Accurate analysis results are the premise and foundation ofcomplete recovery. Therefore, through studying the occurrence way, state, andanalytical chemistry characteristics of noble metals in the second resources materials,it is finally established an accurate and fast analytical method, which is one of themost important tasks of analytical chemistry. We studies dissolution technique for the second resources materials and theinterenfence on Ru by ICP-AES in this paper. For the dissolution of Ru in wastematerials, wet acid treatment in an open-vessel or high-pressure decompositionsystems can only dissolve second resources materials containing a small amount ofRu. It should be done by a carius tube technique, but must be of high temperature andhigh pressure condition, also decomposition is time-consuming. Only the method ofalkuli fusion by Na2O2and high aluminimu crucible,in700℃muffle furnace candigest the sample quickly and completely. The content of ruthenium ranges from0.0x%to xx%in second resourcesmaterials. The interference of the determination of Ru in second resources materialsby ICP-AES is discussed detailly, which contains elements co-existence in samples orintroduction from dissolution. Studying to eliminate the interference by somemethods, then we find that: Direct determination after alkuli fusion for samplesincluding ruthenium≧10%can be realized. But for samples if the content of Ru<10%,interference could bring great errors by direct determination. So,separation andenrichment of ruthenium could be carried out.We studies the separation and enrichment of Ru less than10%in secondresources materials, choosing the inorganic precipitation agent of Te and organic precipitation agent MBT,testing the influence factors:acidity, time and the additionquantity of precipitation agent and other conditions for each other. The applicable range of MBT precipitation for enrichment of precious metals Pt,Pd, Rh, Ru and Au is0.25%~10%, below or above this it can’t get accurate results. The precision of this methods for Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru and Au are respectively0.36%,1.50%,2.91%,3.00%and0.47%. The recovery are101.5%,86.25%,89.22%,101.50%and96.85%. Contrast to recommended methods, results are good, and themethod realizes separation and enrichment and determination one-time for Pd Pt, Rh,Ru and Au by ICP-AES.Applicable range of Te co-precipitation for enrichment of Ru is0.5%~10%.Contrast to recommended methods,Results are good, but precision of this method2.71%, is slightly too large. So,it should be improved in the future.
