Abstract


With the quickening of the globalization, Chinese modern design is facingunprecedented challenges and opportunities. Fortunately, more and more Chinesedesigners focused on research of their native culture,"only national is international",which is invariable truth. But new technology, new idea and new method are impactingthe thought of modern design, while people pay more attentions to the culture visualperception and emotional satisfaction of product than its physical level.Reviewing the history of ancient and modern "delicious food" and "beautifulcrockery", it is not hard to find that the tools plays an important role in the developmentof diet culture. So-called, exquisite delicacies match well delicate instruments. As theold saying goes, beautiful crockery is better than exquisite delicacies. It means that"delicious food" is important, but "beautiful crockery" also cannot be regarded casually.Besides pay attention to the delicious food, customers prefer its related cultural andcreative when consumers eat food. The harmony of "delicious food" and "deliciousfood" will be the important research content of Chinese traditional food culture andtableware design theory.Taking the Chinese ancient tableware as the research object, this paper interpretsthe tableware of regional food culture, material technology and ancient creation view, inorder to seek a long history of blood relationship of traditional instruments design andmodern design. In the paper, the nature view, human view and used view reflected inthe traditional tableware design are analyzed by combining the modern design andanalysis. Using the method of comparative analysis, the difference of tableware regionaldesign is studied from the regional angle. A new design thinking mode is presented byintegrating regional culture with the modern design to help Chinese food cultureinherited and developed, and to promote the designed modern tableware with Chineseregional characteristics win victory in the keen market competition.
