Abstract

In recent years, with the rapid development of agriculture, industry and city, alarge amount of toxic and hazardous pollutants discharge or leak in soil. Soil pollutionhas become the concern of environmental issues. Phenolics are common organicpollutants in soil and show a trend of accumulation in the environment. It has been apriority control pollutions in many countries.Common remediation technologies ofcontaminated soil, such as leaching, chemical oxidation and biological method, etc, have high demands on the permeability of the soil. When the soil permeability is low,the treatment effect is significantly decreased. Electrokinetic is a new remediationtechnology of contaminated soil and groundwater. It is mainly used for removingheavy metals and ionic contaminants in soil.In recent years, it attracted widespreadattention in the field of soil organic pollution. The Fenton Oxidation is a highlyeffective senior oxidant. It has significant advantages in degradation of hardbiodegradable, persistent toxic and harmful pollutants and has beed widely used inwastewater treatment of pesticide and dye. The research of Electrodynamics andFenton Oxidation in wastewater treatment is more, but less in permeability soils. This paper mainly studied the Electronetic Technology and Fenton Oxidationjoint remediation of phenol pollution in low permeability soils. It examined the effectof migration of phenol under different pH, electric field intensity, initial moisturecontent, additives, and different experimental devices through small-scale experimentand discussed the mechanism of migration behavior of phenol. Finally, usingElectronetic-Fenton oxidation technology joint remediated soil of phenolcontaminated, it conluded:1. The process of electrokinetics can promote the migration and enrichment ofphenol, it migrated to the anode and enriched in0-6cm from the anode. The migrationof phenol achieved the best effect under the conditions of pH=8.16, electric-fieldintensity for2V·cm-1, moisture content of40%, cathode added0.05mol·L-1LASsolution and anode added0.1mol·L-1NaOH solution.0cm and6cm away from the anode, the enrichment of phenol is achieved respectively139%and133.7%.2. The electrokinetic migration behavior of phenol can be divided into threestages. Against buffer stage(1-4d): Electromigration and electrodialysis roled quiteand phenol did not show the effect of migration and enrichment. Electromigrationdominated stage(5-10d):Relying on Electromigration, The phenol showed a strongtrend of migration to the anode. Stable stage(11-14d): Phenol continue to migrated tothe anode, after12days reached a relatively stable. The migration and enrichment ofphenol mainly depends on the Electromigration of the second stage.3. Different experimental device structure significantly affect the migration ofphenol. The phenol migration and enrichment effect of cylindrical experiment device isthe best. The migration rate of phenol can reach68.3%, the overall removal rate canreach61.1%. Several consecutive experimental results showed that: usingElectronetic-Fenton oxidation technology joint remediated soil of phenolcontaminated, the effect was stable, reliable. The average migration removal rate canreach70%, the total removal rate can reach63.2%. It is feasible for usingelectrokinetic-Fenton oxidation remediate the soil of phenol contaminated.
