Abstract


Compliant mechanism is a new mechanism using the elastic deformations ofcompliant components to realize transfers and conversions of the movement, force,and energy. Compliant mechanism can reduce the number of components, reduceassemblage, improve the accuracy, reduce the friction, and so on. InMicro-Electro-Mechanical Systems and bionics, it has very high value.In many cases, compliant components of the compliant mechanism can besimplified as a root of flexible cantilever beam. This paper introduces several existinganalysis methods to solve the cantilever beam in the analysis of large deformation:Chain Algorithm, Elliptic Integral Method, Differential equation Method and thePseudo-Rigid-Body Model, then analyze the advantages and disadvantages of each,and compare the results solving cantilever beam’ large deformation problems. Insolving compliant mechanisms, for Chain algorithm, Elliptical Integral Method, andDifference equation Method, the analysis of compliant components and the solvingequations of compliant components are two relatively independent processes, it iseasy to introduce the cumulative error and cause instable of the solution. ThePseudo-rigid-body model method does not exist the problem above, but relativelypoor precision. This paper introduces the Method of Moment to solve the cantileverbeam in the analysis of large deformation, the analysis of cantilever beam largedeformation problem and solving problem of compliant mechanism has very highprecision and stability.This paper solve the Young bistable mechanisms using Pseudo-Rigid-Body Modelmethod and the Moment of Method, analyze the torque curves and energy curves ofthis kind mechanisms and double Young tristable mechanisms(DYTMS), and with thehelp of a special class of polynomial curve and the Pseudo-Rigid-Body Model,propose a new optimization design of DYTMS. At last, we processing the mechanism,authenticate the three steady state characteristic of the mechanism and proved thefeasibility of the method.
