Abstract


The road greening parts are divided into the following parts based on the difference of their location:the central strip of greening, motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle separation greening, human and non-motor vehicle greening (also called tree greening), roadside greening and intersection greening.People’s life quality has been constantly improved with the development of economy and the faster urbanization, and the aesthetics has increased very naturally.When the basic material needs are met the spiritual pursuit becomes the more urgent demand, therefore, people are tired of the current monotonous road greening design, they hope the road greening will be like the park design so that there will always be something to hear or see."Garden city" greening design is lifted in the countrywide, yet the road greening is dependent on the existence of a green form so it can’t be designed like park landscape to provide beautiful landscape.According to the data statistics from the Ministry of public security, the number of traffic accidents in China has shown a downward trend yet the city road traffic accidents is rising during2005to2010. Human factors are always seen the main reason that result in traffic accidents and it takes a high proportion of79.8%(the accidents caused by wrong judgment, negligence and miscount takes26.99%), mechanical failure factor takes5.1%, non-motor vehicle and pedestrian factors take5.21%. Yet, as a recessive factor, road greening is often neglected, it has a great influence to the motor vehicle driver’s attention and judgment ability.In recent years the traffic accidents has increased due to road greening, and you can see there are many cases reflected by citizens, therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between the road greening and traffic safety.First, this article makes a simple elaboration on road greening and the traffic safety situation of China, grades the road from the traffic function and road space landscape function.Common measures on road greening is mentioned in front. It is a adj relation between road greening and traffic safety and they restrict each other. Safe greening design in link and intersection is put forward based on the analysis on the relationship between the road greening and traffic safety following the find problem-analyze the problem-solve the problem method.This article believes that the road greening vegetation height, plant spacing, vegetation combination scale and color are the main influence factors on traffic safety. It doesn’t mean to abandon the landscape function when traffic safety must be ensured and the purpose to study the relationship between the greening and traffic safety is to seek the balance point.The safe greening design is programmed mainly from the greening belt width, planting form, vegetation selection and planting spacing and color etc.According to Maslow’s demand theory, the higher demand is pursued only when the low level demand is met. Safety is the lowest level of human psychological needs, thus traffic safety is the basic demand in road greening. It will be a reversed approach when traffic accidents occur frequently even the road greening makes a very beautiful landscape, so it should be the first principle to ensure traffic safety from a humanistic perspective.
