The Relationship between NDVI Variation and Spatial Temporal Distribution of Migratory Birds in the Poyang Lake Wetland

Abstract


The wide range of avian flu spread will pose serious challenges on the economy and human health, and migratory birds is recognized as a natural carrier of the cross-regional spread of the avian influenza virus. Study of the spatial and temporal distribution of the migratory birds, for the evaluation of the status and role of migratory birds in the spread of avian influenza, and then explore the outbreak of avian influenza and propagation, and develop control strategies to provide scientific reference. In the present study, the first use of the SPOT-VGT image data monitoring as migratory birds wintering in Poyang Lake wetland vegetation cover, wetland changes in NDVI value on behalf of factors, the use of remote sensing and geographic information system analysis of Poyang Lake wetlands NDVI Temporal and Spatial Trends; and observations 1999-2006 Poyang Lake wetland wintering migratory birds temporal and spatial distribution of the changes, to be classified in accordance with the feeding habits of migratory birds, analyze the temporal and spatial distribution of the feeding habits of migratory birds. Finally, the use of statistical analysis of Poyang Lake wetland vegetation cover change with the feeding habits of migratory birds spatial and temporal distribution of the mutual relations, and come of NDVI with different feeding habits of migratory birds and the correlation coefficient. The results show that: (1) the obvious change of the Poyang Lake region NDVI timing, and was an overall upward trend over time. Due to the unique hydrologic characteristics of Poyang Lake, the lake protected areas NDVI value by the double impact of seasonal and hydrological dynamics. Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve, Southern Rocky Mountain Nature Reserve, Kang Mountain Nature Reserve, and Poyang Lake in northern region better protection of vegetation cover and NDVI values ??at a high level. Around the Poyang most areas of vegetation cover essentially the same, and a slight increase, indicating a gradual increase in the degree of vegetation coverage. (2) the type and quantity of wintering migratory birds of the Poyang Lake region was an overall upward trend over time in the spatial distribution throughout the Poyang Lake wetland protected areas and their number is mainly distributed in the Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve, Hong Shan Nature Reserve Duchang protected areas for migratory birds, and in recent years a trend towards concentration of the Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve. (3) the Poyang Lake NDVI spatial and temporal distribution of birds in the study, the distribution of the change in the number of migratory birds and protected areas presented a significant correlation, the correlation coefficient above 0.8. NDVI values ??associated with feeding habits of migratory birds, the herbivorous migratory birds duchang protected areas for migratory birds Kang Mountain Nature Reserve and Baishazhou Nature Reserve three regions showed significant correlation; food tubers and eat insects software The class does not show a strong correlation, the correlation coefficient was not statistically significant, but can still be seen some positive correlation trend; the piscivorous shrimp migratory birds, omnivorous like migratory birds and NDVI not exhibit any correlation. The study defined the spatial and temporal distribution of the Poyang Lake wetland for migratory birds, and provides a theoretical basis for the construction and management of the entire Poyang Lake ecological protection of migratory birds in Poyang Lake Wetland Nature Reserve, at the same time, as a non-continuous mode of transmission of the evaluation of migratory birds in avian flu propagation in a preliminary study of the status and role, in order to effectively prevent and control the spread of avian flu to provide scientific reference.
