Abstract


Vehicle traveling data recorder is a basic device which can be used for a comprehensive record of the vehicle’s running velocity, time, distance and its safety information. And it is an important means to promote the traffic management and transportation management level. The promotion and use of the vehicle traveling data recorder, making the ministry of transportation is more convenient for the supervision and management of the vehicle. Therefore, it has a certain research value.According to the current situation, cable data transmission is the main way of getting the data in vehicle traveling data recorder. This makes it difficult for the traffic police to have timely access to the vehicle data and, thus, can not be effective to stop the timeout and speeding.In order to change the situation, this paper proposes the design and achievement of a wireless detection system which can speedy read the traffic violation information of vehicle traveling data recorder. With the integration of GPS chip and GPRS chip in hardware, this system realizes the new functions of the recorder:real-time location and data upload wirelessly. And for the specially designed web-database, it can excellently receive and storage the detailed information from vehicle recorder through GPRS. In the same way the database can receive data retrieval requests from handhold terminal of the police, and return the violation information. Finally, after the test validation in the laboratory environment, the detection system can quickly get accurate information about the illegal behaviors even in long distance.
