Abstract


As the society develops very rapidly, the market’s requirements for furniture design professionals are getting higher and higher, which poses a huge challenge to the furniture design majors in universities. To take advantage of the program’s materials science and manufacturing processes, give students more practice to improve their abilities and stimulate the students’passion and inspirations at a practical scene, the proposition based on space design of integrated teaching in the furniture design major is put forward.This teaching space combines art design and manufacturing technologies. Its content includes foundation module, theory and practice module, and practice module. All modules have the experimental teaching as the core. Through cooperative projects with enterprises, the practice-oriented teaching space is deepened.This proposition integrates theory and practice, and emphasizes the importance of practice. Students can get hands-on experience and inspirations by using equipment. They will learn how to make the products designed into real and do creative designing by trying and experimenting.
