Abstract


In the primary system, reactor coolant pump is the only long-termhigh speed rotating equipment, and at present it’s a large nuclear powerequipment which can’t be realized localization. As one of the mostsignificant parts in canned motor reactor coolant pump, the safety andstability of the stator can means a lot to the normal operation of reactorcoolant pump. There are few academic achievements on canned motorpump published, due to its special application field. Based on the thinwalled cylindrical shell stability theory and the finite element theory forthe buckling stability problem, this paper does following studies focus onthe buckling stability of the stator can:First, the stator can is easy to appear the deformation when theoutside pressure is greater than the inside pressure, and it will happenbuckling instability when the deformation is more than a certain extent.This paper made the eigenvalue buckling analysis and nonlinear bucklinganalysis of the stator can mode, researched the influence on the bucklingload of the stator can by the change of the thickness, radius, the length andthe initial imperfection, and got the thickness is the biggest factor to thestructure stability of the stator can.Secondly, bulge is the most vulnerable damage format of the statorcan, in order to study the influence of the bulge to the structure stability,this paper studied the bulge formation mechanism of the stator can. Thenanalysed the influence on the buckling load of the stator can by the changeof the local bulge size and the bulge position on the basis of the nonlinearstatic analysis. Finally, the stator can is influenced by the electromagnetic field of themain pump motor, in order to study the effect of the electromagnetic fieldon the stability of the stator can, this paper analysed the2Delectromagnetic field of the motor in reactor coolant pump in differentrotor eccentricity based on the motor electromagnetic field analysis theory.Then studied the change rule of the buckling stability of the stator can indifferent eccentricity based on thin shell structure buckling stability theory.By all the analyses above, the buckling instability load of the statorcan in different boundary conditions and different initial conditions isknown. We can ensure the stability of the stator can when the applied loadis lower than the the buckling instability load, and it make aforeshadowing to the study for the safety and stability of the rotorassembly in the canned motor reactor coolant pump.
