Abstract

Growth habit(spring VS winter) of wheat is determined by Vm genes, which affect theenvironmental adaptability of wheat. The gene of Ppd-D1converts wheat from a long day to aphotoperiod insensitive(day neutral)plant, providing adaptation to a broad range ofenvironments. Vernalization gene and photoperiod gene of wheat are major factors thatinfluence wheat heading. This study tested and identified four sites of Vm-A1,Vrn-B1,Vrn-D1and Vrn-B3using11pairs of STS markers and Ppd-D1site of photoperiod gene using twopairs of STS markers for477wheat varieties from varied wheat-growing areas.Based ongrowth conditions of wheat in Northwest A&F University, At the same time, we analyzed theinfluence of dominant and recessive conditions of4sites of vernalization gene and Ppd-D1site on wheat agronomic traits and developmental stability, based on growth conditions ofwheat in Northwest A&F University. The results are as follows:1. The result of the research on vernalization gene confirmed that the frequencies aredifferent of the five sites:with Vm-D1site was the highest of all the dominant genes, Vrn-B1and Vrn-A1the next and the Vrn-B3the lowest. The distribution frequencies was24.5%,18.6%,12.2%and0.4%. For the growth habit(spring&winter)of the cultivars, the dominantalleles Vrn-A1site was the highest of all the dominant genes and Vrn-B3was the lowest.Effects on the growth habit(spring&winter)of the cultivars are Vrn-Al> Vrn-Bl>Vrn-Dl>Vrn-B3. In addition, the winter and half winter varieties are excluding Vrn-A1gene, whichonly exists in the spring varieties and few exist in weak springn varieties; The wheat varietiescontains Vrn-A1gene and Vrn-B1gene are mostly spring or weak spring varieties.2. Researches on the major site of photoperiod gene Ppd-D1showed that overwhelmingparts of domestic wheat cultivars was insensitive to photoperiod and of good adaptability toIight environment·The cultivars which were sensitive to photoperiod were mainly in winterwheat Area.3.The correlation analysises of vernalization gene, photoperiod gene and agronomictraits confirmed that, the positive significant correlation have been between Vrn-A1and wheatseedling phase, days to heading (DH), node length under spike, peduncle spike neck length, panicle length(PL), number of grain per ear(NFGP),and thousand kernel weight(TKW),andthe negative significant correlation have been between Vrn-A1and hardiness resistance(HR),grain number per spike (GNS); the positive significant correlation have been between Vrn-B1and wheat seedling phase, DH, flag leaf area, node length under spike, peduncle spike neck length, PL and NFGP, and the negative significant correlation have been between Vrn-B1andHR; the positive significant correlation have been between Vrn-D1and wheat seedling phaseand DH, and the negative significant correlation have been between Vrn-D1and HR andTKW; the positive significant correlation have been between Ppd-D1a and wheat seedlingphase, and the negative significant correlation have been between Vrn-D1and HR and TKW.Some traits may be divided into different wheat to correlation analysis.4.The correlation analysises of vernalization gene, photoperiod gene and developmentalstability(mainly refers to the stability of DH) confirmed that, the negative significantcorrelation have been between Vrn-A1, Vrn-B1, Vrn-D1and the stability of DH, the positivesignificant correlation have been between Ppd-D1a and the stability of DH, it shows that if awheat existence Ppd-D1a, it development stability is better.
