Abstract


Phenomena of illegally or indiscriminately fells trees were frequently occurred. According to the judicial requirement, conviction of illegally or indiscriminately fells trees is based on the volume. However, most cases of the illegally or indiscriminately fells trees were measured by weight. Because there were no relevant standards for the conversion of volume and weight on trunk, there was great error. This will influence scientific and impartiality of forestry administration of law enforcement.Therefore, research of conversion model of volume and weight on trunk is playing important role to forestry administration of law enforcement. Pinus elliottii Engelm., Pinus taeda L., Pinus massoniana Lamb, var massoniana, Cunninghamia lanceolata (Lamb.) Hook, Cryptomeria fortunei Hooibrenk ex Otto et Dietr, Castanopsis platyacantha Rehd. et Wils., Machilus sichuanensis N. Chao ex S. Lee, Acer (Tourn.) Linn., Alnus ferdinandicoburgii Schneid., Populus szechuanica Schneid. and Eucalyptus grandis in Yibin were take as research objects. The relations of trunk weight and volume of the five timber species (group) at different moisture contents were investigated. The results showed that:(1) Moisture contents of5major timber species (groups) were gradually decreasing with the growth of the time during the different moisture contents. The best models were fit due to the correlation.(2) According to the relationship with volume and weight of5major timber species (groups) during the different moisture contents, the best models with relative higher determination coefficient were fit.(3) Model accuracies about volume and weight of5major timber species (groups) at the different moisture contents were inspected; and all of them meted the requirements of precision scope in the forestry.(4) The tables of volume and weight were listed during the different moisture content by using the model.These results supplied scientific data for forestry administration of law enforcement and the value of forest resources evaluation in Yibin.
