The Production of Corn Silage and Its Effect on Fattening of Beef Cattle in Pingliang

Abstract: It affected on nutritional quality of whole-plant corn silage with differentcorn variety, different planting density and additive fermentation stimulants, andanalyzed economic benefit of fattening for beef cattle in Pingliang. It is significantthat increased the nutritional quality of corn silage. The results showed:1. Maize yield, nutritional quality and fermentation quality were affected (P<0.05)by variety, planting density and the interaction between variety and density. Thenutritional quality of corn decided the fermentation quality of silage in the samefermentation environment. Different variety compared: FN1’yield, nutritional qualityand fermentation quality were higher than J125and ZD2. ZD2’yield was higher thanJ125, but nutritional quality and fermentation quality were lower than J125. Differentdensity compared: Corn yield and DM, CP, NFE of nutritional quality andfermentation quality were the highest which planting density is90000and82500plants/hm~2. EE, CF and Ash of nutritional quality and fermentation quality were thehighest which planting density is60000and52500plants/hm~2. FN1is made forproduction for corn silage which is the best of maize yield and DM. The best plantingdensity of FN1and J125is90000plants/hm~2in Guanghe, and ZD2is75000plants/hm~2.2. The fermentation temperature was greatest for Max200and MIXⅡ (29.81℃and28.27, respectively) by3d, while greatest for CON (33.98℃) by4d. The upposition pH of ensiling for three treatments were not significant difference by1d(P>0.01); The middle position pH of ensiling for Max200and MIX Ⅱwas2.07%and5.39%lower than pH for CON by1d; The low position pH of ensiling for Max200and MIXⅡ was4.97%and6.48%lower than pH for CON by1d (P<0.01). The threeposition pH of ensiling for Max200and MIXⅡ was significantly lower than pH forCON by7d (P<0.01). The three position pH of ensiling for three treatments werenot significant difference by21d (P>0.01). Concentrations of dry matter for CON,Max200and MIXⅡ decreased with ensiling time extended (32.42%vs28.56%,32.28%vs30.41%,32.42%vs30.92%respectively for1d and21d). The loss rate ofdry matter for CON, Max200and MIXⅡ was11.91%,5.79%and4.71%, respectively.Concentrations of dry matter for Max200and MIX Ⅱby21d was significantly higherthan concentrations of dry matter for CON (P<0.01). There was no significantly difference for crude protein, crude fat, crude ash, crude fiber, Ca, P and nitrogen freeextract among three treatments. The results showed that the addition of Sila-Max200and Sila-MIX Ⅱ can significantly improve fermentation quality of Whole-plant CornSilage.3. Max200and MIX Ⅱincreased daily dry matter intake compared with CON(P<0.05); Max200and MIXⅡ gained0.09kg,0.05kg more body weight per day thanCON, feed/gain were0.49and0.28lower than CON. Max200and MIX Ⅱincreasedfeeding efficiency. The carcass percentage of Max200and MIX Ⅱwere2.08%and1.11%higher than CON, net meat percentage were2.82%and1.51%higher thanCON, carcass meat percentage were2.04%and1.12%higher than CON. The averagedaily net income per animal of Max200and MIX Ⅱwere297.73yuan and170.13yuan higher than CON in the same beef price.
