Descaling is an important process which is indispensable in the steel rolling process. The descaling quality directly affects the surface quality of steel rolled products. The high-pressure spray descaling system is not only a kind of most widely used descaling mode in modern steel rolling production, but its advanced technology also is an important mark of modern steel rolling.This paper makes fault diagnosis which is based on the fault of the high-pressure spray descaling system in one Chinese large steel plant. Through preliminary analysis of the fault of the system, and aimed at pressure instability of high-pressure water tank and pressure shortage at descaling points, this paper will use the pressure of the descaling system as the main research object to analysis and study. Because of the high-pressure spray descaling system’s large scale and decentralization, this paper makes research on Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of descaling system which is based on dispersed monitoring and centralized Diagnosis. On the foundation, this paper develop an on-line high-pressure spray descaling real-time pressure monitoring system to analysis fault causes and find out fault positions.This paper contains following work:(1) First, in order to provide technical support for further development of pressure monitoring system, this paper makes preliminary analysis of the fault of the system, and does deep analysis based on FAT.(2) In this paper, a total design of the pressure monitoring system is made. According to the actual situation of the descaling system, this paper develops a suitable hardware platform.(3) Based on functions which the hardware platform wants to realize, using VB and software attatched by the hardware, a suitable software platform is designed.(4) Using simulating test experiments test the maneuverability, stability and other peropeties of the hardware and software platform.
