Abstract


Urban waterfront is the most valuale possession of the city, which has rich landscape elements, profound historical and cultural heritage and rich flavor of the humanities. It’s the microcosm of urban civilization. However, in recent decades, blind imitations on the development and construction mode, which have been used at home and abroad, make regional characteristics of our urban waterfront disappearing gradually.At the same time, with the expansion of the city scale of Shenyang, Hun-River becomes from the boundary to the inland river. In the master plan of Shenyang, the establishment of golden corridor makes the stretch between Changqing Bridge and Changda Railway Bridge become the center stretch waterfront of the Hun-River. Its geographical position and laden functions decide that it would be the excellent place which could reflect the regional characteristics. At present, the environmental renovation completed basically, Its development and construction are being carried out, I take this opportunity to learn and to study the urban waterfront space regionall characteristics shaping methods.At first, this thesis does research into relational theories about characteristics modling of urban waterfront, including the related interpretation of the conceptions about urban waterfront design, theoretical basis and many successful examples home and abroad. It summarizes the general principles of urban waterfront design finally. Meanwhile, the thesis carries on the theoretical application with characteristics modling of Hun-River center stretch waterfront in Shenyang. First of all, using the theory of urban regional characteristics, it makes analysis from perspectives of the factors affecting urban regional characteristics, namely the nature environment, social culture, economic and technology. Bisides, it also summarizes the regional characteristics of Shenyang. Then, the thesis analyses the present main problems in Hun-River center stretch waterfront from perspective of regional characteristics modling. At last, above those problems, the thesis proposes feasible projects and recommendations from functional zoning, landscape construction, the settings of the activities project, culture landscape design and many other aspects, which combines the regional characteristics of Shenyang. Consequently, all of these realize characteristics modling of Hun-River center stretch waterfront in Shenyang.
