Rural micro-credit is a financial services system especially intended for poor farmers. It developed in China in earlier time, but compared with the great breakthrough and effectiveness achieved by foreign countries, its development in China obviously seems less vigorous and its risk has become increasingly prominent. It practically does not go to its full length to finance for the farmers, nor does it play the role of increasing the farmers’ income and alleviating the poverty. Based on the status of microfinance and the present problems, this research draws a conclusion that the development of micro-credit risk and its risk control is the main obstacle to China’s rural weak micro-credit. According to the different participants in credit activities, risk is divided into six categories:natural risk, market risk, management risk, credit risk, moral risk and considering the reasons from the risks, then further deals with the corresponding risk control measures through the risk-control pattern of "farmers, micro-credit institutions and government", which aims to weaken the risk of micro-credit, strengthen its role of supporting and benefiting agriculture and meet the farmers’ demands of credit. With reference to such methods as theoretical argument, exemplification, data analysis, model exploration, this research throws light on the risk of micro-credit and its effective control measures, based on the related theories, the risk status, causes and foreign experience in risk control.
