Abstract


"Lienv" is a special word in traditional Chinese society for some of the womenwho preserve chastity after the death of her husband and commit martyrdom. It is alsoa group set pronoun. At the same time, according to different criterions, there aredifferent types of Lienv. It can be divided into virtuous woman, fierce woman, filialpiety women, militia, zhennv and longevity woman. To maintain chastity is thecommon Life criteria in this group without exception.This essay can be divided into seven parts, and relates and analyzes the socialbackground, type formation, reasons for preserving chastity and role definitionquestions of modern times Lienv in Shandong. It shows the living conditions ofmodern times Lienv in Shandong in many sides.The first section is overall a summary of Shandong local chronicles aboutLienvZhuan in modern times. Through all of Shandong Chinese local Chronicles thecolumn female biography of compilation of scale, compilation purpose and theChinese local Chronicles the author outlook on the analysis of the problems, can fullyunderstand local around the Lienv biography of the general situation.The second section is the background of modern times Lienv in Shandong. At the same time, they are also diversified forms of the feast of thecharacteristics.The fifth section is about the family identity and status of modern times Lienv inShandong. This paper discusses mainly the lienv life family type, and all femaleidentity, family economic situation, income distribution and the analysis of the role,these problems are related to its own position listed female closely related. On the onehand,they bear the whole family responsibility, filial piety the in-laws, educatedchildren, even ten ceaseless, for a living runs. On the other hand, in the circumstancestill participate in some social charity activities.The sixth section is about the country and the society as the background of Lienv.The main focus on two relations: the government and their families and listed thedelicate relationship between the women.Though sometimes encountered relatives goodwill or a malicious "advised to",but they keep faith with the volunteers, even if is the cost of the life. They’re youngwidows, on the one hand, to support the whole family alone daily life, they becomethe main role part of the family income, and also face the various pressure; ShandongLienv’s "loyalty, filial piety, piety and kind-hearted" virtue also won the praise,rewards and recognition of families, the state, and the society.
