Abstract

The development of airborne LiDAR provides us a new high spatial and temporal resolution of the geo-spatial information technology. It makes data acquisition from traditional single manual mode to continuous automatic mode, makes data acquisition and treatment towards the direction of intelligence and automation. Airborne Lidar consists of laser ranging, IMU, GPS and the corresponding auxiliary unit structure. It will be impacted by the system itself and synchronization between the systems while surveying and mapping. In order to achieve the desired accuracy of the data, in addition to a rigorous system calibration, we often take the method of strip adjustment.Based on the analysis and summary of airborne LiDAR observation equation, the errors which affect the accuracy of the laser data are qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. According to its main sources of error, we introduce a strip Adjustment method based on attitude correction to achieve the purpose of data accuracy. Details are as follows:(1) Summarized the domestic and international airborne LiDAR strip adjustment methods, and analyzed the composition of system、the principle of LiDAR surveying and mapping.(2) Combined with airborne LiDAR observation equation, we take a parameter reduction method to qualitatively and quantitatively analysis the errors which affect data accuracy, and lists to summarize the chart.(3) Aimed at the main error source, we introduce a strip adjustment method based on attitude correction. The content of the method includes matching the point cloud and trajectory by time information, determination the discrepancy between overlap strips, constructing observation equation, and the least square parameters solution.(4) At last we use experimental Anyang flight data to analysis the improvement of horizontal and vertical accuracy after strip adjustment, and verify its effectiveness and practicality.
