Abstract

To explore Childhood amnesia phenomenon, objects of early research of Childhood amnesia focus on undergraduate or young and old in foreign. But recent years, however, the researchers focus on children and mostly of researchers pay close attention to the Tracking study and Cross-cultural analysis.But researchers of Chinese pay more attention to Literature reviews, there is not mature study on Chinese now. Whether we will get the similar results with Chinese as subjects? This paper used the international research paradigm to explore the boundary and the Degrade mechanism of childhood amnesia in the cultural background of china. And find there is significant differences exists between different ages. So the further research was carried out to explore the effect facts with children as subjects.This research includes two experiments:The objects of experiment1are145adults of three times. We get their memories about the birth of a younger sibling through the questionnaire survey, so as to define and compare the boundary of childhood-amnesia of adults. The results were:(1) The boundary of childhood amnesia occurs between the ages of3and4;(2) The boundary of childhood amnesia occurs between the ages of2and3in the90s group, earlier than the70s and the80s;(3) There is significantly positive correlation between the frequency of relevant narrative and some memory-preserving object or activity and the autobiographical memory average scores.In the second experiment, we interview52children between5and6years old and asked four groups of children recall the performance events before four months, then control them and asked them recall again after a month. The results were:(1)The frequency of relevant narrative and some memory-preserving object or activity, and the autobiographical memory average scores have significantly positive correlation;(2)In the sequence, clarity and factual dimensions of autobiographical memory, there are significant gender differences and significant groups differences of the time before and after.Finally, the author finds that:(1) Under the chinese background, the boundary of childhood amnesia occurs between the ages of3and4years. And the ages of2and3years of the90s group is earlier than70s and80s.(2) There is significantly positive correlation between the frequency of relevant narrative and some memory-preserving object or activity and the autobiographical memory average scores.(3) In some dimensions, score of autobiographical memory of girls are better than boys. And the autobiographical memory of the groups of audio-visual records more abundant than the groups of audio-visual records exciting.
