Abstract


The participants of this study were adolescents;the purpose is to develop a scaleof adolescents’vanity mind which accords with psychology metrology requirementsand by this tool to explore the development characteristics of the adolescents’vanitymind.And study the adolescents’vanity mind whether have implicit characteristicby using different answer modes.In the research methods,firstly,based on previousstudies and interviews,we construct the composed traits of adolescents’vanitymind,then designed the“Adolescents Vanity Mind Questionnaire”according to thestrict and standard psychometric process,and by using the method of the questionnairemeasurement to investigate the development traits of adolescents’vanitymind,finally,used self-designed vanity folktales and questionnaire scale by means of“quick answer”and“slow answer”two answer modes to explore adolescents’vanitymind whether have implicit characteristic.Based on the items analysis,confirmatoryfactor analysis,reliability and validity analysis of“Adolescents Vanity MindQuestionnaire”;and the analysis of development characteristics of adolescents’vanitymind,differences of age,gender,grade and family economic situation group forcontacting objects and the analysis of adolescents’vanity mind whether have implicitcharacteristic ,we reached the following research conclusion.(1) Adolescents’VanityMind is a multidimensional psychological structure,consisting of six factor:good’brand sensitivity ,physical view,achievement concern,physical concern,appraised byothers concern,keeping up with the joneses.(2)“Adolescents Vanity MindQestionnaire”has good reliability and validity which is according with thepsychology metrology requirements.So,it can be used as a measure of effective toolfor adolescents’vanity mind.(3) Adolescents’generally have vanity mind.The minoradolescents have low vanity mind.The vanity mind of most adolescents sets in the medium level and high level,few adolescents have the tendency of greatly high levelof vanity mind.(4)The age,grade and family economic situation have the significantdifference on adolescents’vanity mind.At the age group of 16-18 is significantlygreater than the age group of 10-12 and 13-15.High school students group issignificantly greater than junior high school students group.Wealthy family group issignificantly greater than poor family group and common family group.There are nosignificant differences between genders.(5)Both folktale and questionnaire methodhave proved adolescents’vanity mind has implcit characteristic.
