Abstract


This thesis focused on the Guizhou Frozen disaster of2008.Case-study,surveyresearch, participant observation and interview methods were used to collectdata.Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to analyze and describe this crisisproduced by Frozen disaster.This research separated hazard-affected body from disaster systems which wasdivided into lifeline systems, psychosocial-behavioral systems and emergencymanagement systems. This research pointed out that natural disaster was ahazard-formative factor,which was control parameter.The nature of crisis was the effectiveself-organizing of hazard-affected body,fragility and resilience were two slowvariables..The balance of power between them determined the future of thehazard-affected body system.The lifeline system was regarded the foundation of hazard-affected body system, andthe amount of damage from the natural disaster which determined the fragility of thehazard-affected body system.The damage started from the dysfunction of the lifelinesystem, and extended its energy along the disaster chain.The effective interruption of thetechnical expert system was key to emergency management.After the dysfunction of lifeline system,the psychosocial-behavioral system alsochanged.This research centered on psychology bearing capacity,recognition of crisisconsciousness,behavior logic,especially on panic buying,mutual help,social support,andcompared behavior of different groups.Furthermore,this article analyzed informationdissemination. During the period of disaster, the effectiveness of channeling and managingof the behavior emotions and information dissemination indicated the resilience of thehazard-affected system, which determined the future of the system.Whether the hazard-affected body system can achieve effective self-organizing, andwhether the crisis can be controlled by related coping mechanisms were examined,including prospective surveillance mechanism,safety requirement mechanism,materialreserve mechanism,psychology induction mechanism,efficient managementmechanism,and coordinating mechanism.This article analyzed the construction of thesemechanisms. Finally, this thesis emphasized the conclusions, innovations and limitations of thisresearch.
