Abstract


Iron picture has a history of more than 300 years from its first appearing in Qing Dynasty. As one of the outstanding representatives of Huizhou culture, iron picture is unique and brilliant due to its legendary history background,complex production process and symbolized Chinese spirit.In the modern world, the living soil of iron picture has been changed from the former agricultural economy to the present market economy. Alteration of aesthetic taste of modern mass follows. The modern aesthetic context is in the period of business social transformation which is filled with various cultures.The living environment and cultural values of modern people are changing and they pay more attention to novelty and changes. Thus the modern aesthetic context has the following features:variety,complexity,market-oriented(commercialized), popularized,information technology,culture-related.With the new context of aesthetic, iron picture development is confronted with many challenge s as well as oppotunities. The key lies in corresponding adjustment and transformation. The context of iron picture is based on the traditional Chinese paintings,which pay attention to freehand brushwork,simple and unadorned style,nihility,the mood of a work of art,and symbolism. Chinese paintings, rooted in ancient agricultural economy,create a world composed of black and white colors, which is the hobby of scholars.As a kind of art creation, iron picture is influenced and penetrated by the aesthetic context.In the new aesthetic context, more consumption stimulus and highlights of iron picture corresponding with psychological needs of modern people should be added aside from maintaining its unique aesthetic system.The purpose is to help iron picture adapt to modern cultural context.Its inner artistic nature and philosophy expressed by diverse ways will follow the trend of modern aesthetic context. The traditional culture of iron picture can be expressed in flexible and fashionable designing ways to combine iron picture with modern aesthetic perfectly.Based on sorting out the history, this essay analyzes the social and historical background of iron picture, including these eslments of politics,economy,culture,custom and geographical environment.It dates back to find how iron picture art has been influenced by society,economy and changing cultural mode.Meanwhile, it studies how iron picture art reflects civilization modes in different periods and societies.The relationship between iron picture and Hui culture, iron picture and Huishang economy is studied too.This essay concludes features of modern aesthetic context and gives suggestions and strategies as to the inheritance and development of iron picture in such modern aesthetic environment.Innovation is the fundamental way of realizing sustainable development of iron picture because it can promote industrial restructuring and adjustments. I hope that more inspiration can be obtained out of it and offer reference to the protection of our traditional cultural resources.
