The papers related to research and learn from the theory of urban waterfront planning and design and excellent constructions, the author use the methods of collecting questionnaires, comparative analysis, combined with field investigations, the application of landscape ecology, systems theory, environmental psychology, etc. theoretical knowledge in relevant disciplines of urban waterfront leisure space for research.Main findings are as follows:In defining the relevant concepts based on the content, summed up the urban waterfront leisure space, the main features of the landscape elements of spatial composition and space, from a different perspective on the urban waterfront leisure space for in-depth study of leisure space for urban waterfront planning design theory and practice to provide a research base.The Author survey and partial comparative analysis the tourists satisfaction of Changsha Xiangjiang scenery, Orange Island, Zhuzhou Xiangjiang River waterfront leisure space; on its space form from the bottom surface, structure, scale, boundary, enclosure five aspects carry on the investigation; from the road, water, plants, buildings and facilities in five aspects investigation on landscape elements.and found the following problems in Changsha Xiangjiang River Scenic Belt, Orange Island, Zhuzhou Xiangjiang River Scenic waterfront leisure space, such as:hydrophilic less space, the lack of hydrophilic facilities; on the site to retain the use of less; boundary of hard higher traces of heavy labor; space, lack of participation in cultural and educational venues.Finally, takeing the Xiaoxiang scenery with the phase two project planning and design practice as a case, suit one’s measures to local conditions, through a variety of technical means to solve the above problems, in order to illustrate the theoretical feasibility.
